Students councils are a great way for students to take on leadership roles, promote the voice of the students, solve their problems and impact their community. It provides an opportunity for students to engage in a structured partnership with teachers, students and management in the smooth operation and functioning of the school. The council helps share students' ideas, interests and concerns with teachers and school principal. It plays very important role in boosting the confidence level and enhancing the communication skills.
Academics teaches everything, starting from alphabets to life's lesson. Academic achievement is important for the successful development young people in society. Students who do well in school are better able to make the transition into adulthood and to achieve occupational and economic success. Education shows the importance of hard work and at the same time help us to grow and develop as it imparts knowledge that gives people an edge on a global scale.
Track and field events helps students to recognize their talent and abilities which even they did not know. Students who participate in sports learn a sense of readiness for the future. They develop self-discipline, motivation and leadership skills that they will need to succeed in a purposeful life. The value of athletics is significant and cannot be overlooked as it brings a sense of belonging and teamwork.

Himalayan Progressive School, Kichha utilized the searing summer days through summer camps from 1st June to 8th June 2022. Summer camps are extremely beneficial for the skills of the students and their overall personality development. The main objective of HPS summer camp was to build individual character, value of team work and shouldering responsibility. Children took part in sports, art, calligraphy, dance etc. and learnt new skills in different disciplines. The camp ended with the presentation by the students in the presence of our honorable principal sir, coordinator mam and all the teachers.

Sports and games play a major role in shaping the personality of a child. An inter-house Kho-Kho competition was organized for the students of class 9th on 9 April 2022. All four houses (Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekher, Udham Singh and Ashfaqulla Khan) played with team spirit and enthusiasm. In boys section Udham Singh House and Bhagat Singh House got 1st and 2nd position respectively. In girls section Chandrasekher House got 1st position while 2nd place went to Bhagat Singh House. Consolation prizes were also given to all the players.

Mountaineering is all about challenge, determination and perseverance. Tisha Karyani, Sanjana Rautela, Kaniska Kala and Mushkan Bisht from Himalayan Progressive School, Kichha went for a mountaineering expedition to Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. The camp was organized in the month of June 2022. Girls from Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand took part in the 15 days long expedition and learnt the skills of Rock Climbing, River Crossing and Crisis Management.

World No Tobacco Day or Anti-Tobacco Day emphasizes the health and other risks associated with tobacco use and advocates for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption. Every year on 31st May, World No Tobacco Day is celebrated across the globe. Several campaigns, events, and activities are organized on this day and in this regard NCC CADETS of HPS conducted an awareness rally to educate people about the bad effects of tobacco on health. In this awareness rally HPIANS visited different places and communicated the people and made them aware the bad effects of tobacco.

World Environment Day, on 5 June, is a global event and this year marks 50 years since the first global environment summit campaigning for “collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet”, encouraging everyone, everywhere, to live sustainably and take action on the climate crisis.
On this day, our teachers taught the students the methods to plant a tree. Students brought a sapling from their homes and planted them in the school ground, so that it may grow and flourish in the land area after some years.
A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take. Mother’s Day is a day for many people to show their appreciation towards mothers and mother figures worldwide.Mother's day was celebrated with great pomp in our school. Mothers were invited to school. Children adopted different methods to make their mother feel special. Welcome song, dance and ramp walk was performed by the children to encourage their mothers to participate. Resulting majority of mothers participated in different events like Ramp walk, fun games, answering secret questions, giving advice and sharing their own experiences with others.

A field trip is a school outing, one which usually has some educational purpose. An educational tour offers students of all Classes an opportunity for a rich immersion experience. Himalayan Progressive School organized an educational tour for the students to visit different places alongside enriching their knowledge and broadening their outlook. Student visited Kausani, Almora were welcomed with deep and dense pine forest, tea gardens and view of the Himalayan peaks of Trishul, Panchchuli, Nanda Devi and the Temple of Baijnath (UNESCO World Heritage site). In second trip student visited Delhi were Qutub minar, Nehru place, Lotus temple, India Gate, Red fort, National War Memorial and National Gallery of Modern art.

“Yoga for Humanity” is the theme for International Day of Yoga 2022. The day, observed on June 21, focuses on the importance of yoga in our lives. A number of events are organized around the world to mark the day and the same has been done by HPS family. Yoga session was organized at school premises in which many students took active participation along with teachers and enhanced their knowledge about the importance and benefits of yoga in our daily life. The essence of yoga balances, not only mind and body but also human relationship and the world.
